The Mullany Prize for Excellence in physiotherapy has been won by student Elliot Goodyer from the University of the West of England.

17th July 2013 The Mullany Fund

Each year, the Mullany Fund awards two £250 prizes, one to an outstanding student of physiotherapy at UWE, and the other to a medical student at Swansea University’s School of Medicine.

The awards aim to recognise, promote and reward exceptional student commitment. Elliot was nominated by his tutors in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and presented with the award at the 2013 UWE Award Ceremonies at Bristol Cathedral by the Vice Chancellor of the University.

Elliot said that the reward was a touching conclusion to a challenging three years. “It is overwhelming to be recognised for my efforts. This gesture has inspired me to continue to try my hardest and achieve the best I can.”

A charity spokesperson said, “Elliot Goodyer is an exceptional student and we wish him all the best for a long and successful career in Physiotherapy.”

After graduating, Elliot went to Argentina for an elective placement before returning to work at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
